2021 | Pueblo Convergence

Pueblo Convergence is a collaboration between Kim Pluskota and her partner, Jon Pluskota. Jon is a sound engineer and currently an Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Media Communication at Colorado State University Pueblo.

The following description was displayed with the Pueblo Convergence installation in the Capps Capozzolo Art Gallery at CSU Pueblo during October of 2021:

“This installation represents a convergence of sights, sounds, and feelings from the perspective of two newcomers to Pueblo, Colorado. From mountain views to historical architecture and industry, Kim and Jon Pluskota pay tribute to this vibrant city and its surroundings. This work embodies the inspiration they have gathered in the short period of time they have lived in Pueblo. The forms, textures, and colors reflect a blend of the awe-inspiring nature, dynamic art, and festivities that can be experienced here. The sounds are a documentation of the landscape—both city and rural—such as the flowing local river, the bustling train yard, and the roasting of Pueblo chilis. All of these sights and sounds come together in a rich blend for the senses in Pueblo Convergence. Look, listen, and enjoy!”
